STOP R-5 ZONING IN RESIDENTIAL PALM HARBOR
Case# Z-31-12-19 Location 620 CR-1 Palm Harbor
Proposal to rezone a 2.5 acre remnant parcel of land (12/28/15/37674/000/0011)
from Zone R-A - Residential Agricultural to Zone R-5 - Urban Residential
R-5 - Urban Residential Zoning allows for single/multi family dwellings up to 45 feet and only 6' setback from existing property lines
There are no R-5 developments located in Palm Harbor
The requested zoning change is inconsistent and incompatible with all surrounding neighborhoods
All homes in the surrounding communities are currently zoned R-2/R-3
The lot width is only 87 feet wide - R-5 would permit buildings up to 45' seemingly right in your back yard
By opposing the rezoning of the remnant parcel to R-5 - Urban Residential it would allow our community to maintain the landscape and characteristics which markedly influenced our decision to move to this specific
area. Significantly more than an inconvenience, it also would allow the 35 directly adjacent homes
to maintain their consistency, desirability and marketability with their neighbors, which they would lose if
several 45-foot-tall, multi-family dwellings were allowed to be developed in their
backyard, on a piece of land that is only 87 feet wide.
Below is a representation of placement of the new development on the lot.
The proposed concept plan image was provided from the county then
we placed it over an image from Google maps.
